Song of the Day: Hide and Seek, Imogen Heap

I really love this song! It’s simple yet brilliant. The most striking thing about it is that it’s mostly just Heap’s voice – albeit with a lot of effects on it πŸ˜› (She’s clearly a big fan of production values!) There are plenty of vocal tracks layered on top of one another here, which I heartily approve of. There’s a nice robotic sound to some of these layers (some are actually synths, I think) while others sound completely natural – and the harmonies these create are top class. Heap is an undeniably great singer. Hide and SeekΒ is a laid back song that’s poppy, sweet, and very very catchy. And if you’re not careful it will get stuck in your head for days πŸ˜€

P.S. This original version is 50 times better than Jason Derulo’s “cover”. End of discussion. Bite me.
