Star Wars: The Old Republic; Initial Impressions: Story

Star Wars: The Old Republic is the new MMORPG (Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game) from Bioware, the developer responsible for such games as Mass Effect and Dragon Age. I was a big fan of World of Warcraft back in the day, so I’ve always been interested in trying out a new MMO. As I’m also a big Star Wars fan, this game was perfect for me! In this ‘First Impressions’ series I’m going to be taking a look at each of the different aspects of the game – starting here with Story. Continue reading

1000 Gamerscore in Skyrim: Achievement Tips

Today I finally got 1000 gamerscore in Skyrim. BAM! This is the first game I’ve ever gotten all the achievements for and I’m feeling rather proud. So, I’ve decided to write this post – under the guise of offering you a few tips for the trickiest achievements – as an excuse to brag 😉 I’m a terrible person!

5 Things I Don’t Like About Skyrim

So, I’ve had Skyrim for over a week now and I’m roughly 50 hours into it. I’ve finished the main quest and a couple of the biggest side quests as well. Don’t get me wrong, Skyrim is an absolutely amazing game. What I want to do in this post, however, is to make 5 criticisms of things that I think the game did badly; the things that it could improve upon.

Combine this post with my First Impressions one and you’ve got yourself a fairly solid review of the game (at least, I hope so!). Anyway, on with the nitpicking! Continue reading

Skyrim: First Impressions

An early village you will encounter

I picked up Skyrim nice and early yesterday: I went down with my friend Oisin to the 8 o’ clock opening of GameStop in Dun Laoghaire to get it. I spent most of yesterday playing the game and I wanted to share some of my first impressions and reactions to what I saw and did. The game is AWESOME; these are 5 most notable additions so far.
